Bi bim bap
I made bi bim bap for dinner. It was a successful experiment. Even the dog liked it.
What I did:
3 cups of rice in the rice cooker
two small zucchinis near julienned, salted, and sauteed
two carrots julienned and sauteed
three large mushrooms sliced, sauteed, with a bit of sugar and soy sauce added
two green onions sliced up
some purple cabbage sauteed and slightly sugared
a slab of cow sliced up thin, marinated a bit in some garlic, sesame oil, sugar, and soy sauce, then sauteed
fried or scrambled egg to top the mess
You put a pile of rice in the bowl, then add vegetables and meat, top with egg if desired, and stir it up. If I had some kochujang (red pepper paste), I would have added a blob of that for extra spice. Next time...
The dog liked the zucchini and the cabbage. Not so much the carrots. In fact, the dog got the remaining bits of cabbage, zucchini, and a bit of meat with some rice. He slurped it up.
