Beer near here now
I stopped by the local liquor store -- the one in walking distance. It appears to be under new management. I discovered that they carry Lord Chesterfield Ale. I normally only get it at Pennsic. This is wonderful. They said that they keep it in stock for a regular customer. This is a good sign.
Their selection of non Budmilloors beer is quite satisfactory given the size of the store. I also picked up some 60 Minute IPA (Dogfish). It's very hoppy (which floats my boat nicely, thank you).
Then I overlooked their selection of Scotch whisky. Reasonable for their size with a few choices off the beaten path, including something infused with orange? The clerk asked if he could help me. When I said that I was just looking over their Scotch selection, the sneaky bastard brought to my attention the special box of Talisker that he offered to sell to me at a discount. Three 200ml bottles - one of 10 year old, one of 18 year old, and one of the double matured. It's now sitting in my house.
I expect they will get a useful fraction of my beer budget, such as it is. I can simply walk there to grab a six-pack.
