Pants bankrupt and all that
Jun. 7th, 2011 01:18 pmMy lady is on the June western tour. Her travel companion bailed on her at the last minute -- something about having a day job -- so she is driving solo.
Midrealm Kingdom A&S and Spring Crown Tourney was the first stop; business was brisk.
This past weekend was June Faire in Dragon's Laire (An Tir). I had sufficient frequent flyer miles to get myself out and back for minimal cash outlay. We got set up on Thursday and had all day Friday to get properly set up. The weather was outstanding and business was decent. I got to share The Hat with a whole new community. We packed up dry and I got home. Megan is touring the Olympic peninsula today and probably tomorrow as she meanders over to Idaho for Uprising. Oh, I made the baroness of Madrone jump. In theory, she had heard that the shop would be there, but no clue that I would be there. Cheap laughs ensued.
I'll get back with her at KWHSS in a few weeks.
Meanwhile, the job hunt has been a bit more productive. I had a phone interview Thursday that went very well; I have a face-to-face meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. I may end up back at the job before the most recent. Interesting (in the good sense).
And, the house looks pretty nice for showing. Daniel and Katie did a splendid job of touching up and rearranging bits for the open house on Sunday. We'll see how that plays out.
On top of that, Daniel has started his summer internship, so he is now gainfully employed. My turn...
As a bonus, on the second leg home from Minneapolis, I managed to have the center seat on an MD-90 with the aisle and window seats empty. The seat pitch is sufficient to let me use my laptop (unlike the 757 which is insanely cramped). I was able to put the mouse on one tray, my snacks on the other, and really work effectively. We even got in to Baltimore 20 minutes early.
