There's smoke coming from under the hood!
Apr. 5th, 2006 01:56 pmSo Megan and Matt go up to her folks house to pick up a car for Matt. Matt has successfully pried license plates from MVA, and the car is said to be in working order.
First problem: the battery is toast. OK. We'll stay the night and deal with it in the morning.
A few minutes ago, I get a call from Megan. They are sitting on the side of I-95 north of Philly. Matt first smelled, then saw smoke. It appeared to be issuing from the alternator. They are waiting for Megan's father to arrive to help sort out how to deal with this. I don't know if he was bringing a towing apparatus or not...
This means that I don't know when Megan will get home tonight. For sure, they will not clear Philly before rush hour. :(
It also means that her birthday party will be slow to get going tonight, with the guest of honor being delayed an unknown amount of time...
