Orbitz sucks rocks.

I told Orbitz that I was looking for two nights with three adults in the Manchester, NH area. The cheapest hotel rate was for the Motel 6 in Nashua (where we've stayed the two previous years). For a few dollars more, we could stay at the Fairfield Inn, a few miles closer, with wireless internet and breakfast.

We get there and check in...and find that the room has a single, queen-size bed. The rate Orbitz quoted me (for three adults) was actually the senior citizen rate for a room with one bed. Cute.

The desk clerk was able to finagle us into a room with two beds for only a few dollars more, so the damage isn't hideous. Just annoying.

To put it one way, they lied to me and to Marriot.

This was on top of their technical incompetence. They sent me a "confirmation" by "email". It was blank. There was no text/plain part -- just text/html. That counts as blank, in my mail reader.

I send them an email complaining that it was blank. Their response (in a timely fashion) included an inane opening statement that the message had gone to the wrong address (?), but did tell me about the user option to select between text and "pictures" for email. I changed the setting and commanded it to resend the confirmation. It was just as blank. I send them another email complaining that the "fix" didn't work.

Their response was to blame my firewall settings. I pointed out to them that the problem was in what they sent me. I even glanced at the html crap, and it had way too much crap to make picking the content out practical. The finally admitted that they had to bump the question up the line.

...so, I'm disinclined to trust a damn thing they say anymore...
