Naming cars...

I have this wonderful new car. It's "Galaxy Gray" (as Honda calls the color). Blaise and Nostasia also have a Civic in that color, leading to cracking wise about "Galaxy Class cars".

Well, discerning a name for the car has been, shall we say, deliberate.

I examined the canonical and apocryphal names found for Galaxy class starships, but found no real inspiration. "Yamato" just doesn't seem right, even if the car was built in Japan.

What about galaxies? Hmmm... The first name that popped to mind was "Sombrero". I double checked that the Sombrero galaxy was the one I thought it was... Yep. ...and, no, the car does not hover (at least when I can see it). On the other hand, I can see making a magnet or sticker...

...so, for now, the car is named "Sombrero".
