Leopard spotty
Nov. 16th, 2007 08:36 amWe're oh-fer-two on installing Leopard.
That's "installation attempts on two different machines" leading to two machines that don't work right now. Grrr...
Matthew's machine is a stock G4 tower of the 1GHz variety. The installer didn't recognize the existence of the boot drive and then did bad stuff when he tried to do a new install on another drive. That drive is now extra cranky.
Megan's machine is an old Sawtooth G4 upgraded with a 1Ghz Sonnet CPU upgrade. It took 10.4 just fine. 10.5 allegedly installed, but on the restart, it powers down during the grey screen very quickly. Needless to say, Megan is more than a bit frosted.
Hopefully, the boys can get my 10.4 DVD back from
fuzzface00 at Holiday Faire and try to get Megan's machine running again.
I'm afraid to try upgrading the laptop.
