It was a wet and soggy Saturday...
Sep. 4th, 2006 04:44 pmWe went to Convivencia. We got there before the heavy rain began Friday, so we got our tent up over reasonably dry ground.
It rained. It rained some more. It ran on the ground. It ran *under* the tarp! Yay! No soggy rugs (mostly).
Saturday was a slow day due to the rain, but we were open. Good schmoozing occurred among those who braved the weather to come out.
bunnyjadwiga's feast came out *early* and lived up to the hype. It was fine food in good quantity. It was nice to actually meet
maziemaus and place her in context (as opposed to a random person to impart Scotch whisky knowledge and experience to).
It was a wonderful relaxing event. Sunday brought better weather. It also brought "long ball", a stick and ball game that one can apply baseball skills to with good effect. The game also provided opportunities for "making the highlight reel", which, in the absence of a formal scoring mechanism, was much to be sought after. I'm pleased to note that the highlight reel was not blank, and I'm also please to think that I made the highlight reel myself. I found myself needing some vitamin I later in the evening to deal with the protests of my muscles.
This game is sufficiently entertaining that it might merit introduction into the Atlantian corpus of "silly field games" along side Cambok. I shall be getting the reference to the source for the game.
Sunday brought some blue sky and dry canvas! We got home a bit after noon, tired and sore, but relaxed.
