Life throws interesting curves...
Dec. 9th, 2005 12:21 amWell, it's been an interesting 48 hours...
We were going to head up to Bergental Yule on Friday. We've considered the weather and made the "bag this" call. :(
Meanwhile, I had a wonderful birthday. Friends, good company, and good port. Woot!
Thursday night, Rorik and I did our "split the difference between our birthdays and go out" thing. We hit Annapolis for sushi followed by Irish Coffee and then good beer. You've probably heard of "fatty tuna" (toro). Well, consider fatty yellowtail. Mmmmm. Now consider salmon belly. Salmon flavored butter. And green tea ice cream!
Heros is a pretty neat bar in Annapolis (not the easiest to find, mind you) with several dozen beers on tap. I settled for Woodchuck Pear. Then I decided to be boring and have another. The barmaid asked if I liked Guinness, which led to Guinness floating on pear cider. Yummy...
Meanwhile, Dan had an ice hockey game earlier. Midway through, he fell as a result of a collision (imagine that!) The other guy fell, too, and somehow, his leg was subjected to a twisting force. He gave up on trying to get up Real Fast. It turns out that he has a spiral fracture of the shin bone. Oh boy...
