-I'll respond by asking you five questions to satisfy my curiosity.
-Update your journal with the answers to your questions.
-Include this explanation and offer to ask other people questions, if you're so inclined.
1. Do you fish? If so, catch-and-release or hot pan on the shoreline?
Not really. I used to do some as a kid, but not in years. There was some catch-and-release and some food. Never a "hot pan on the shoreline", but there were those catfish in the Pine Barrens that got field-stripped, put on a stick, and roasted like marshmallows.
2. If you woke up tomorrow to find that an anonymous benefactor had gifted you with a billion dollars (legal and clean) and the services of an accountant and a lawyer (both trustworthy) to manage the sum, what would you spend the first week doing?
Um. Er. Setting up camp at Pennsic and opening up for the first week of business. Remembering to breathe. Establishing an entity to sponsor textile research activities. Making generous bequests to a variety of organizations I care about. Moving forward on moving away from the immediate DC area to someplace a bit less congested. OK, some of this is difficult to reconcile with Pennsic, but the specific timing is odd. If I skew the timeline to "not overlapping with Pennsic", there'd be plotting to sort out a general course in line with the above.
3. What would you pack in a picnic basket?
Plates, cups, utensils, napkins; bread; some sort of preserved meat substance and/or hard-boiled eggs; salty snack food; raw veggies; sturdy sweets for dessert
4. If you were going to raise animals for fiber, what fiber-bearing animals would you raise?
Hmmm...alpacas sound interesting. The fiber is certainly appealing.
5. What keeps you in the SCA?
I haven't run out of fun stuff to do, and I keep getting positive feedback for doing it. Yeah, there are assholes and jerks out there, but they mostly don't harsh my mellow too much while providing plenty of grist for being bitchy and snarky. I still have a blast with the card weaving and making tools. Heraldry is still fun; I've found a job that really suits my strengths and weaknesses well. Ten years in, I'm not seeing an end in sight to being Morsulus.
NOTE: I'm heading off to Pennsic shortly. It'll probably be two weeks before I get back to the rest of the questions I owe people. If you get email notifications of replies, you'll get a hint eventually.
