Date: 2006-03-30 07:22 pm (UTC)I never knew that about you. I am pretty much a liberal Quaker too, although the test actually put Buddhism a bit higher, which surprised me. But then again, I beleive in reincarnation, so I suppose that is what the test was calculating.

Date: 2006-03-31 10:25 pm (UTC)Really! I went from K to 2nd. I was put in as an out-district student because my parents didn't want me at Nellie Custis (which later closed anyway and put those kids into Oak Ridge). In 2nd grade I had a teacher who put way too much pressure on me (I came home in tears because I would get 1 or 2 problems wrong on a test). So they put me into Drew Model until 6th. Then we moved to MD (partly my dad's job, but also to put us closer to Sandy Spring Friends School). My parents fought to get my sisters through Thomas Jefferson JHS and Wakefield HS but didn't want to fight with me. (Lots of various problems). Actually I would have done OK at those schools, but probably would be socially inept. SSFS fostered my mind and soul and let it grow.
Where did you live to go to Oak Ridge? We lived down on South 25th street (blocks from a gravel parking lot that eventually turned into Pentagon City Mall) and then up on South Pierce street right by the ES.
