herveusAt Storvik Baronial Birthday, the first item of business Janos and Rachel conducted was to summon one Andrew Rorikson before them and give him an Award of Arms.
An aside:
Rachel has a nifty-keen spear that has a brass ring somewhat below the head, and a runic inscription that (I'm told) reads "You must be this tall to ride the Rachel". Janos has a warped sense of humor. That's part of why I like him... :)
Well, if you stand the spear next to Janos, you can guess where that brass ring lies. It was pointed out to Janos that Andrew is that size. Andrew held the spear long enough to verify that, after which Janos said "You're not allowed to hold the spear any more." *tee hee*
Anyway, more awards occur; baronial court occurs; champions are named; winners are announced.
Back to royal court (and, IIRC, the last item): The herald summons "Rickard O Donngalee"
(use all the letters). Our son, while going up, clearly calls out "get it right!" The correct pronounciation is offered (Richard O Donnelly). It is also noted that he is carrying steel, of which he is relieved by a guard. Rachel ran through a list of
stuff Daniel had done. Janos asks to see the confiscated items, and notes that something should be done about it, whereupon the Award of Arms is made and his sharp/pointy things returned to him. Oh, and, surprise, he was working in the kitchen most of the day.
Woohoo!
