I was contemplating maybe voting to reelect Bobby Haircut, but his campaign has pushed my buttons really hard.

First was the phone call from "Mrs. Ehrlich". Of course, it was a recorded call (*grrr*), and she wanted to discuss the my absentee ballot. Now, I didn't request an absentee ballot, so the phone call was based on a very ignorant premise. I didn't bother wasting my time further.

Strike one.

Friday afternoon, I needed to run some errands. I turn onto MD 450 from Grenville Lane, and what do I see? Ehrlich campaign signs thickly sown in the median and on the shoulder. That's "thickly" as in "every foot for a quarter mile". No, I'm not exaggerating. Maybe only slightly. And it was a double row in the median. All placed illegally, as Maryland does not permit signs of any sort in the right-of-way along state highways. "Litter on a stick", to use a phrase I found at a county website.

Saturday evening, I go out the same way. The signs I saw Friday were completely gone. I think the highway department cleaned up the litter, and I hope they billed the campaign for the effort. However, along 450 through Bowie and then up Route 3 toward Crofton, what did I see but an even greater infestation.

My guess is that I saw several thousand signs, all in all. All litter. All really annoying.

Bob Ehrlich, you are, by the actions of your campaign workers, demonstrating that you don't give a flying fig for ethical conduct. It's reprehensible. And, you have insured that you won't get my vote.

Agreed - and I even hear the Bob-ster himself congratulating his troops about the good job with the signs. GRRRRR

I'll be running out shortly to vote during lunch. Took himself 1.5 hours at 7 am to vote. Let's see how long it takes me.

3 hours and twenty minutes, more or less. Folks behind us in line may still be waiting as I write this, possibly seeing a four hour wait.

I suspect that the poll workers will not be getting home before midnight.

Fortunately, spirits were pretty good, and the humor positive. A bit of groaning, but not much grumbling.

...so Bobby Haircut was bragging about the signs? *spit*

ABC has been calling the race for O'Malley, based on exit polls. Actual returns may be slow coming in, given that I suspect that a number of precincts are still not done voting.
