Well that was "interesting"...
Jun. 22nd, 2007 10:41 pmSo we were going down to Wastelands today. Right. That required a working van. It wouldn't start. Crap.
Crappity crap crap!
Meanwhile, at work, I end my short day with a teleconference followed by the choir director chewing out the whole choir (with special emphasis on certain individuals right up to the edge of what you can get away with in front of cow-orkers). Then, having escaped that with fundament intact, I go home instead of being picked up.
Megan had already gotten a pre-approval for a car loan and done some searching for vans like the one we own. Chevrolet claimed that Ourisman had two such in stock, both with the towing package installed. We decided to try them first.
The salesman who pounced on us was quite green, but he didn't try to BS us. They checked their inventory and couldn't find any 15-passenger vans. I looked over the lot and observed one way out in the far corner. It had been delivered yesterday and had not yet been put "in the system". They didn't blow the "make me a fair offer" test, although I had to give them a low-ball offer to get them into the zone, but it wasn't excruciating.
I've gotten the shelving from Cody (the soon-to-be-ex van) to fit into Timberwolf (the new one) without too much work (although there's a bit more to do in tweaking). We're fixed up to go to Defenders of the Heart (being local) so we don't completely blow the sales opportunity.
Loading being complete, and Rorik having shown up, the internal alcohol rub commenced. It's usually a good idea to eat something *before*, not after. Oh well.
Let's hope sales are at least satisfactory.

Date: 2007-06-24 12:46 am (UTC)...and Defenders of the Heart was coolness and great weather and better than decent sales and good company. Well worth the effort to have gone.
