You know, I have a deep and abiding envy of people who can draw recognizable objects. Comparing his two efforts - he has made the wise decision to go with finer threads.

This time next year is looking more and more attractive - if we can only get all of our finances in order and I feel comfortable with the reduced income. And it *IS* reduced, no matter what the husband unit says. I yearn to be able to be gainfully unemployed and able to just curl up and stitch with no guilt.

That's gorgeous stuff. I gave up embroidery shortly after I discovered the SCA - to Rosamunde's disappointment. However, as my eye-doctor told me at the time, I had two choices. Give up working and staring at a computer screen all day or give up embroidery & cross-stitch as a hobby. I still have unfinished projects - Blackwork & etc. buried deep in my fabric trunk. I'd been doing embroidery since I was ten and was just coming into being good at it in my 20s as I was doing it regularly. Heh.
