This has been a stressful week.

MVA decided that there was in irregularity with our car insurance. Our insurer failed to send the necessary form on the first request from us (and left no trace of that request in the files). The second request from MVA left very little time to get the required paperwork into our hands before the registration on MJ's car was due up. It got sorted out, but...

We've been busting our humps to get ready for the Sheep and Wool demo this weekend, trying to get tablet weaving kits together to sell and all that. Sales at the demo are being run by White Wolf and the Phoenix (using our tax number and our credit card machine). More stress.

Today, MJ notices that there has been no deposit of the receipts from TOC. We also needed to get the wireless part squared away with our machine. She calls Retriever. It turns out that when they prepared the software download for us a month ago to truncate CC numbers on the receipt, they put the wrong merchant account number in it. The batch from TOC got sent to some other merchant. They are supposed to be fixing that. They did provide what was supposed to be a fresh download that fixed the problem, but the wireless mode stopped working. They claimed that they've never had a request for wireless service going way back to 2002. That's ludicrous, since we've always had wireless service. Of course, they probably can't get it fixed in time for Saturday morning, so we will be left with running offline, which exposes us to the risk of a rejected transaction.

Those of you who've seen MJ in fine form can predict how this has set her off. It's not pretty. I'm kind of shaken, actually. It's going to be a tense weekend. Please hold us in the light.

I will definitely hold you guys in the light. **Many hugs**

Might I suggest that if you can't call in credit cards, you consider not accepting them except as a last resort? Another possibility would be to take the credit card info, but mail the item(s) to the customer once the card clears. I know the problem with this would be customer reaction.
