Recently, Allasondrea delivered my Pelican scroll to me. It was worth the wait.

About the scroll, she said:

The scroll was done on prepared 8x10" vellum.
The calligraphy was done using cut goose quills with iron gall and red pigmented ink.
The illumination is based on the Hours of Jeanne de Navarre, The Adoration of the Magi, French, mid-1300s.
The gilding was done using fish glue and 23k patent gold leaf.
The colored pigments were suspended in a gum arabic solution. The pigments used were vermillion, lapis lazuli, chalk, lamp black, yellow ochre, and brown ochre.
