Pennsic. The short form.
Aug. 10th, 2008 04:04 pmMuch commerce was committed at us. This is good. Almost as good as our best ever from two years ago. Midnight madness was, well, crazy. Friday fair blew it out of the water. *boggle*
The weather was splendid. The rain never a problem. The heat? Not bad at all. The dust? No black boogers. Soot from poorly trimmed tiki torches? Again, the morning nose blow says "not so bad as usual".
We got a new water heater for the shower in camp. It worked very well. It will work better next year with some tweaks.
I'm home. I'm tired. I'm sore. I'm pretty happy overall. Got some really cool news at Pennsic. Saw Istvan get his Pelican, including a way cool reading of the scroll in Hungarian, followed by Ateno getting bushwhacked big-time for a Pelican. Two Atlantian Laurelings. Much secanjabin disbursed in various places. Mr. Northshield took some away. Curly red maple seemed to be a big hit (being a corruption of "curly mint with red wine vinegar", which turned out especially fine).

I absolutely loved the "gnome" outfit, too. (Probably the only thing we could see from the "cheap seats" at the back of court!)
Great stuff, hope to have pics up later this week....

Date: 2008-08-11 07:12 pm (UTC)As for the "gnome" thing, I was present for a Pelican-making, so I wore one of my Caps of Maintenance. Regalia and all that. *sniff* :) Just becuase I had the biggest hat there is merely secondary. :)
