RIP David Mallinak

David Mallinak died peacefully around 3:15 AM Wednesday at University of Maryland Medical Center. His sister Sandy was with him.

Arrangements are being made. He wanted to be cremated and his ashes scattered at Fort Lincoln Cemetery (site of the Battle of Bladensburg, War of 1812). I don't know if we will be able to do this, but if it's at all possible, I will make it happen.

As soon as I find out more details, I will let people know. Thanks for your friendship and support throughout these trying times.

At least he didn't linger painfully. I'm holding Kathy, and Dave's family in the light.

I only crossed paths with him occasionally so I don't really know his family or too many of his friends but he was such a lovely and all around fun guy. I'm so sorry for his loss to his family, friends and community.

Our Nutcracker Suite performances are this weekend. We had already chosen David's Christmas card from last year as the cover of our program and dedicated the performances to him. We will now have a moment of silence to remember our beloved "Uncle Drosselmyer".
David, your PYB family will miss your smiles and gentle spirit in class.

please post details

Hi - I knew David from ballet class and productions of NUTCRACKER. I'm so saddened by the news. I haven't danced in a few months, so it breaks my heart that I've just found out he was so ill. I await info on any services or donations I can make. He was a great guy and a wonderful colleage. I will miss him. Thanks so much for posting this blog so I can reach out to other people who knew him. -- Becky(rgocampo@yahoo.com)
