cargolaw.com provides reports on (mostly) maritime accidents, complete with pictures and amusing captions.

I found this one: cargolaw.com/2008nightmare_ncl.dream.html

The picture of the ship "in better days" sure looks like the pier in Tallinn that we docked at. That's the ship we took the Baltic cruise on a couple of years ago.

Got a question about the cardwoven laurel belt that you sell... the thinner one not in wool... (leaves, not wreath).

We can do the leaf pattern in a single row or a double row. We should have a picture up on the web page...nope, not yet. What size/fiber/length were you looking for?

Hrm. I think the single row pic was already up on the site?
That was the pattern I was interested.

Size/Length - long. (OK. More specific... My ring belt is 71" long). Same width as the medium belts - about 1" wide?

Fiber - not wool, but the other one you use... Don't know what that is...

I know I've seen one of these on your racks before for about $200.00. I was going to grab one at Pennsic, but it was gone before I got there. So I figured I would commission one around Christmas or so, for pickup at Birka....

50 cards of 10/2 cotton by two yards would be $100. Megan says that having it done by Birka could be tight -- as in, it may still be on the loom when we get there. If you want something other than cotton (such as silk or linen), the price goes up. The resulting belt would probably be a bit more than an inch wide, but probably no more than an inch and a quarter.

Would you be wanting green and yellow, or some other colors?

Cotton is fine. :) I'll be merchanting at Birka for the first time this year, so if it's still on the loom the day of, arrangements can always be made to pick it up either the next day before we go home, or shipping to the house is OK.

Green leaves on yellow works for me - I wear primarily red and yellow, per the icon on this post.

Which payment forms do you accept?

Hey again, do you want me to pay for this up front, and is it too late to ask for a slightly wider belt?

Due date does not have to be at Birka, it's a would be nice, but not mandatory.... I'd rather not have this be a point of stress for you guys.

Thank you.

Nothing has been done yet. How wide do you want it? We can adjust things.

We normally ask somewhere around a third to a half down. We don't see this project as taking a big risk of getting stuck with something weird and unsalable, so I think Megan was not being fussy about it. I would expect it to be well under way by Birka if not done. We could handle the financial matters there.

We do Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cash, checks, money orders.

2" to 2 1/2" wide would work better for the dress I plan on wearing this with. I distinctly remember seeing one of these last Birka and not having the $$ for it at $200.00, but I've been saving up for purchase of one since. (Still kicking myself for missing out!) If the cost is more than that, please let me know - and I will talk to my husband tonight about putting the downpayment on his credit card as my Christmas gift. :)

Thanks!
