Did not suck. In fact, Birka was pretty much made of win.

Sales were suitably brisk; we sold quite a bit of string. After a slow start, we cleared the "sucks" line with suitable alacrity and hit the "happy dance" line with several hours of selling left. We were one of the last to finish packing out, but took the expected two hours to break down and load up. The drive home was mostly unremarkable, modulo 30 minutes of crawl in Connecticut where I-95 squoze down to one lane. We had time to reset the car load for Estrella (such as putting the tent poles and bed parts back in the van) while it was warm and light out before retiring to watch football and commercials.

I'm sorry I missed you.

I managed to get myself sufficiently involved with other things that I scarcely had time to visit the merchants. As I have no money (I haz a Collige St00dintTM instead!) it's probably just as well.

I might have money by Hrim Schola. Will you be there?

Absent catastrophe, yes.

Glad it was a success. Were there a lot of "pirates" there, dressed in obviously out-of-period stuff? Seems to me that LJ was abuzz with complaints about that last year.

Nina used to regale me with tales of Birka when I was brand-spanking-new to the SCA. Someday I would like to go -- a single person like me could fly Southwest to the cute lil' airport in Manchester and then take the hotel shuttle van. But not if it's filled with Jack Sparrow wannabes.

I didn't notice the "pirates"; perhaps they were less present this year.

Nice. Can I use you as my personal economic indicator? If sales continue to do better than the last 6 months, maybe that's an upwelling of support for the Obama stimulus plan!

All going as planned, I'll be there Sunday, kitten in tow!

(More likely in tow of the kitten, after two days in the car...)
